Forgotten Warrior

http://forgottenwarrior.org

Forgotten Warrior is a veteran-operated, non-profit organization whose mission is to address the vital needs of current and past combat veterans who are struggling with re-entry. Our program will provide an interim, safe, up-lifting, nurturing, and supportive program which provides housing with education for back-to-work programs, re-entry life coaching programs, and other various health and social services as needed through the VA and community outreach. It is our intention to provide a bridge to the future and teach independent living and goal setting skills so that our veterans can return to a normal way of living with family and their community. In addition to the Facility Care program for our veterans, we will assist others with the same mission to help our Veterans. Forgotten Warrior’s main goal is to design an effective veteran re-entry, and readjustment program that will service and supply a safe and structured environment that will help the veterans to overcome the deep embedded traumas from war related stressors. We will, with our counseling, teach them how to stay in the now thinking and learn to stop the triggers that bring up past traumas. They will have access to educational resources, employment, and daily positive and reinforcing programs that will change their behaviors. Our goal will be to supply services not only in the immediate Sacramento area, but as we get established we will have an out-patient program for all veterans in need of our services.
