http://www.recreate.orgReCreate’s mission is to creatively reuse unwanted materials for use in art, science, and maker projects. We work with businesses in our region to divert clean usable but unneeded items for use in STEAM focused hands-on making, building and creating. ReCreate is known regionally for our More Art, Less Waste program that we’ve brought, at no cost to the schools, to over fifty-thousand elementary students regionally. We teach them to be better environmental stewards, and rethink their notion of waste – through creative reuse and making art from “trash”. ReCreate has focused our efforts on sparking the curiosities and creativity of our students regionally. Our goal is to provide schools and students a launch pad for embracing innovation and creative problem solving through making. Foster students’ creativity and STEAM skills, while arming them with the vital tools necessary to compete in the 21st century workforce is our goal.
