Organization Profile

Soldiers’ Angels has been supporting our nation's military men and women since 2003. Our mission is to provide aid and comfort to the military and its families, provide immediate response to hard situations, and make sure no soldier feels unloved. At the national level, we start with letters, care packages and comfort items to our deployed. In October, 2007, our Sacramento VA chapter began with a singular focus on helping our local wounded, homeless and incarcerated Veterans. As a bridge between the Northern California VA Healthcare system and the community at large, the mission of the Soldiers' Angels Sacramento VA Team is to reach out to local veterans most often overlooked and forgotten. Through Operation Lifeline — a project which involves distribution of clothes, books, games, toiletries and other sundries in backpacks called ‘Baskets of Thanks’ —we distribute Baskets of Thanks to wounded vets at VA Hospitals, across Northern California Homeless Shelters and to veterans at the Folsom State Prison, as well as to any/all special requests made by the VA, veterans and military families in need.  We receive no government or United Way funding and rely solely on your donations, 100% of which go to make sure we reach every Veteran in Northern California. The need is daunting... ~216,000 wounded veterans 12,000 patients served annually through the VA Northern California Healthcare System 7,800 homeless veterans 6,000 incarcerated veterans
