Volunteer in our Medicinal/Community Garden

Get your hands dirty for a great cause! 🌱🌻

SNAHC is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center, located in South Sacramento. The health center is committed to enhancing quality of life by providing a culturally competent, holistic, and patient-centered continuum of care. As part of this vision, the Healing Ways department within SNAHC is designed to build connections to community and culture to improve spiritual health and well-being. This includes offering traditional herbal medicine in a clinical setting as part of patients’ overall care plan.

We grow fresh food and traditional medicine for our patients and community in our community garden, and we always need a helping hand to keep it thriving. Whether you’re a seasoned green thumb or have never touched a shovel, you are welcome here! This is a great opportunity to learn about gardening while giving back to the community.

What we’ll be doing:

  • Weeding, seeding, and transplanting

  • Turning beds, composting, and mulching

  • Harvesting and processing traditional herbs

What to bring:

  • Please dress appropriately for the weather, wear closed-toed shoes, and bring a water bottle. We’ll handle the rest!

Drop in whenever you can during our work hours! No experience required. Let's grow something beautiful together! 🌷
