Earth Day Sacramento Clean-Up at Matsui Park

Join hundreds of Sacramentans in celebration of our planet Earth for a city-wide litter cleanup event! Bring your friends and family for a safe, socially-distanced, and accessible activity to beautify and enjoy Sacramento's special waterways and select community locations. Clean-up is also happening at project sites planned for beautification through the Clean California grant program. Tools and PPE will be provided. Specific 2-hour timeslots and locations are available!

Your help is needed to keep our community beautiful. We couldn't do this without you. This is a great activity for a Date or a group volunteer from your Church, college, school or civic group with volunteers of all ages.

DUTIES:
Walk along the river and park, picking up and carrying trash, to your abilities.
COVID protocols observed.  All persons must wear a mask if required by County at date of event
A volunteer agreement will need to be signed prior to volunteer activities
Tools provided. Wear sunscreen and appropriate work clothes.
Bring water and a snack if desired.

This event is being co-hosted by the Sacramento Tree Foundation – a nonprofit organization working to grow thriving communities through stewardship of our urban forest.

Later this year, the Sacramento Tree Foundation will break ground on a cherry blossom park at Robert T. Matsui Park that brings together nature, art, and culture. For the stunning display of pink cherry blossoms flanking the Sacramento River, this grove is named the Hanami Line.

This park will provide a serene gathering space for residents year-round and a stunning springtime destination that adds to our civic pride in the City of Trees. With public art, ample seating, and plenty of space for gathering among the cherry trees, this park will become a hub for music, food, and cultural festivals and a favorite stop for community members.

Make sure to stop by the SacTree booth at the event to learn more about the Hanami Line at Robert T. Matsui Park or visit https://sactree.org/tickled-pink/
