ON-LINE DISASTER SERVICES VOLUNTEER TRAINING

Are you interested in learning more about being an Emergency & Disaster Services Volunteer? Join us for this 4 Part Series which teaches how to interact with, and accommodate needs based on cultural and religious diversity during a disaster. This Webinar is a part 4 series and is intended to be taken as a unit. We encourage you to register for as many Parts of this Series as possible for maximum benefit.

With a rise in major natural disasters in recent years, people have an increased desire to help but few know how. We are hosting a series of training webinars to explain the role volunteer organizations play in a major disaster and to understand what it means to volunteer effectively during a disaster response. The training can be taken as standalone pieces of training or a series.

What is "religious and cultural literacy and competency in disaster management"?

How religious and cultural language differs from government culture and language?

What skills are needed to competently engage religious and cultural leaders and groups in the field?

The 6 steps in the “LEADER” process.
