Play Music to Hospice Patients

Love to make a joyful noise? Singing old hymns? WE WANT YOU! Join in and playing a tune with your musical instrument of choice and share your musical talent with our hospice patients!

Many patients, especially dementia patients, respond well to music that they used to listen to in their early year. A patient, who may be mostly nonverbal, might mouth the words or even sing along with you.

It is quite a moving experience, and it makes a positive difference in their life--and in yours! Brookdale Hospice volunteers receive special training to provide support to hospice patients and their families at end of life.

"Music is what feelings sound like." -Unknown.
