VIRTUAL VOLUNTEERING: Giving Hope for Those in Quarantine

Brookdale Hospice wants you to volunteer in the comfort of your own home! Send some love to the folks they serve who are on lockdown in their residences to prevent them from contracting COVID-19. You can make the following to make them feel supported and love even as they isolate from their families, friends and volunters: - send a letter - mail a postcard - take a picture of your pet (dog, cat, bird, etc) and show them how proud you are of your fur-baby! - make incredible art - write a poem - create a meaningful message of hope - scrawl and favorite Bible verse - make facial masks and make them pretty! There are so many seniors who would benefit from hearing from you, and it might just make you feel a little better knowing that you made someone's day and took their mind off being alone, isolated and uncertain about the future. Virtually volunteering for Brookdale Hospice will give you a chance to be an official volunteer once the shelter-in-place order is lifted. For more information, please contact Gail, Volunteer Service Coordinator at (916) 614-9517 or email gwiselogel@brookdale.com
