Kitchen Preparation and Packaging Volunteers
Fresher Sacramento aims to achieve food security through the business of ending hunger – a social enterprise model for food security through Fresher Family and Neighborhood Meal Plans. Bringing together workforce skills development and a pathway toward a culinary career as a Fresher Community Chef, they support communities in creating, owning, and sustaining a nutritious cycle of health, wealth, and skills for life.
Volunteers are needed to help with preparation and packaging in the kitchen. Fresher Sacramento is making meals for the homeless in the motels managed by Goodwill Sacramento, as well as providing 600 meals a week for 8 weeks for people in Meadowview. They are expecting to ramp up meal production to 1,200 meals a day.
3 volunteers are needed to help with food preparation. Volunteers must have a ServSafe certification. 2 volunteers are needed to help with food packing.
Dress code:
- Wear non-slip shoes
- Wear protective outfit: masks, hair nets, hats Physical distancing, food safety, health and safety precautions are strictly in place while volunteering.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+, Court Ordered Volunteer - Allowed
