Intake Facilitator

Volunteers are needed to support Sacramento Self Help Housing [SSHH] in ongoing efforts to house those living in society’s fringes. Volunteers are needed weekday mornings to provide “housing counseling” in a small office at Loaves & Fishes with homeless women and men who are interested in rental housing and have some financial resources. This involves an intake interview and then searching on our computer database for suitable and affordable housing referrals. Sacramento Self Help Housing is expanding its volunteer pool. We recognize the value of volunteerism from both sides—the support it offers our staff in carrying out our mission statement “to assist individuals and families who have insufficient resources… who are homeless, in crisis, and have special needs, to find stable and affordable housing,” and the value and purpose it can potentially provide volunteers doing good work. All volunteers and staff work hand-in-hand to provide valuable and compassionate services to the homeless population we work with—to assist in improving their lives whenever possible. See our website at www.sacselfhelp.org .
