Latina Action Day

The Latina Action Day Conference convenes 500 Latina leaders in Sacramento from all over California. This one day conference is designed to facilitate dialogue between corporate and community Latina leaders and elected officials on public policies affecting Latinas in California. Through town halls, public hearings, and workshops, HOPE presents up to date information, analysis, and access to decision makers on critical issues such as healthcare reform, higher education, and the California State budget. Shift 1: 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM

Shift 2: 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Shift 3: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Volunteer Assignment Descriptions

Registration: Check in conference attendees, provide correct name badges, direct attendees to correct locations. This assignment requires sitting and standing for long periods of time and providing excellent customer service.

Greeters: Assist with online check in, direct attendees to correct location and registration tables, usher late arriving and/or VIP guests. This assignment requires standing and/or walking for long periods of time and providing excellent customer service.

Set Up/Clean Up: Assist with event set up including signage and other décor as directed. Assist HOPE staff with event clean up including collecting signage, reconciling registration, collecting leftover collateral, and other clean up as needed. This assignment requires lifting boxes (15 lbs or less), standing and/or walking for long periods of time.

Workshop: Provide assistance during programming including collecting questions for speakers, distributing microphones during Q&A, and distributing and collecting evaluations. This assignment requires standing and/or walking for long periods of time.
