Opportunity Details

Homework Helpers PLUS

Share your knowledge with some deserving children as a homework helper and more at the Roberts Family Development Center in North Sacramento.

Spending your time will truly emphasize the importance of education, learning and reinforce the sprit of community that has allowed RFDC to thrive since 2001. For the first part of the volunteer event, your time will be spent helping with homework or tutoring areas where a child needs help. The second part of your time is normally spent with team leads in learning games, arts and other education based projects. The children will be in grades K – 7th and you will be assigned a team lead who will be available for any questions, help or discipline problems.

The Roberts Family Development Center (RFDC) has served low-income families that live in the North Sacramento community since 2001. RFDC is seen as a symbol of hope in a community that is usually known for negative images. It provides a place where families can go to learn, grow and spend time together.

When you show for the event, go to reception in the Computer Café and let them know that you need to sign in as a volunteer for Homework Helpers. Please be sure to fill out an event evaluation before you leave. Thanks you for you dedication to service and volunteering.
