Hands On Sacramento
was started in 1998 by the Community Services
Planning Council (CSPC) in response to the
community's need for a full-service volunteer
action center. Founding volunteers wanted to create social
change through volunteerism and education, believing
that each person's involvement will make a real
difference in our community.
Vision
We envision a day when everyone is inspired and
equipped to be the change they seek in our
community.
Mission
Hands On Sacramento inspires and empowers people to
change lives and our community through meaningful
volunteer action.
Values
Make an Impact: We are committed to creating
tangible impact. We believe in accountability and
measurable goals.
Empowerment: We want to inspire and equip all
individuals to fulfill their power to make a
difference. We believe that there is latent,
untapped potential residing in our citizenry to
strengthen communities.
Bridge Differences: We employ service as a
platform to bring people together to solve problems.
We believe in the power of diversity and uniting
people on common ground.
Team Work: We join people together to provide
the peer reinforcement to sustain action. We believe
in the power of community and the mobilizing power
of groups.
Innovate: We see our local network as an
incubator of creative new approaches that are
re-defining volunteerism. We believe in a
responsive, action oriented approach and local
innovation.
