How can I become a partner and get my Volunteer Opportunities
listed on the Hands On Sacramento website?
1.
Are
you registered as an individual on our website?
If not, click on the “Member Center” page and sign
up now. After you've signed up, you'll receive
an activation email. Click on its link and you're
now a member of Hands On Sacramento.
2.
Is
your agency already registered on our website?
Click on “Agencies”, and “Browse” to see if your agency
is already registered.
3.
If
your agency is not registered, you can do so on the website to become a Partner or Referral
Agency. Fill out the four-part application form online.
In the fourth part, give us as much detail as possible
about what type of listing you'd like on our website
(see the four types of Project Listings below).
4.
If
your agency is already registered,
contact Sprina Wirth at
swirth@handsonsacto.org
or 916-447-7063, ext. 344, to gain access to your
agency profile.
5.
We
will contact you as soon as possible to coordinate your listing and establish you as a partner
with Hands On Sacramento.
6.
Please Note:
We do not post any listings asking volunteers to raise
money for organizations.
What
kind of projects can I list on the Hands On Sacramento
website?
Hands On Sacramento offers four kinds of
Project Listings on its website:
1.
Hands On Sacramento Managed Projects – Full
Sign-up
These projects are listed on our project calendar
for specific dates and are led by Hands On Sacramento
Project Leaders working in conjunction with your agency.
They generally occur on a regular schedule either
once, twice, or four times a month. The Project Leader
is responsible for all aspects of the project, including
planning activities, and managing the volunteers at
the project site. You tell us what you need, and we
take care of the rest!
If
you are interested in setting up a regular Hands On
Sacramento Managed Project, please
contact Sprina Wirth at
swirth@handsonsacto.org
or 916-447-7063, ext. 344. She will work
with you to determine the parameters of the project,
and we'll work to find a Project Leader to coordinate
your project.
2. Referral Partner Managed Projects – Full
Sign-up
These projects are listed on our project calendar
for specific date(s) but do not have an Hands On Sacramento
Project Leader attached. A representative at your
agency functions as the Project Leader and receives
training in using our administrative website to track
volunteer sign-ups, communicate with volunteers, print
check-in sheets, and mark attendance.
These
projects appear on our calendar listing after the
Hands On Sacramento Managed Projects. This sort of
listing is great for "irregularly" scheduled
projects, where you have a regular volunteer coordinator
in charge of the volunteers and do not need a Hands
On Sacramento Project leader.
If
you are accepted as a Partner for Managed Referral
Projects, you'll be able to propose and post new projects
directly through our website. If you frequently
wish to promote volunteer opportunities on our calendar,
this option will make it easy for you.
It does however require a "point-person"
at your agency who takes responsibility for the volunteers
and posting the listings. The training to use
the system can be done over the phone and takes approximately
30 minutes. Please
contact Sprina Wirth at
swirth@handsonsacto.org
or 916-447-7063, ext. 344, to set up an appointment
for training.
3.
Referral Volunteer Opportunities – "Email
only"
These volunteer opportunities are listed on our Project
Calendar on specific date(s) as a referral only. Volunteers
are not able to sign up for your opportunity on-line
at our website. The details of the opportunity
are listed on the website, and volunteers can click
on a link indicating they are interested.
Our
system will then send you an email expressing their
interest. It becomes the responsibility of your
agency to correspond with the volunteer directly to
coordinate signing them up and giving them project
details.
4.
Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities – "Email
only"
Some agencies have ongoing needs for volunteers. Because
the call is open-ended, it doesn't have a specific
date of occurrence. These opportunities are listed
on a separate page from the calendar as ongoing opportunities.
Volunteers can click on a link indicating they are
interested.
Our system will then send you an email expressing
their interest. It becomes the responsibility of
your agency to correspond with the volunteer
directly to see how they fit your ongoing needs.
Please let us know how long you'd like this listing
to appear.
