CommunityWorks 

Through our CommunityWorks program, you can design a regularly scheduled “done-in-a-day” volunteer project that we advertise on our website and help staff.  We provide a qualified and enthusiastic Project Leader to manage sign-ups, coordinate a group of volunteers and work in conjunction with you to execute your project.  Click here to learn more about CommunityWorks.   

Volunteer Referrals 

If you have an existing project that your agency is already managing, we can provide you with eager volunteers.  Whether your project is a one-time event or an ongoing process, individuals and groups can find it on our website.  This allows them to locate opportunities they find exciting and gives you volunteers who are enthusiastic about your cause. 

We will post your project on our website calendar if you have scheduled dates. If your need is ongoing and does not occur at a specific time, we will list you in our searchable on-going projects database for as long as you want. 

Calendared Referrals: For projects on our calendar, a representative at your agency functions as the Project Leader and receives training in using our administrative website to track volunteer sign-ups, communicate with volunteers, print check-in sheets, and mark attendance.  Training in our system can be done over the phone and takes approximately 30 minutes.  

Ongoing Referrals: You can also simply provide the details of your project and an email for a contact person at your agency.  Interested volunteers can click on the link and we will send you an email expressing their interest.  You correspond with the volunteer directly to coordinate signing them up and giving them project details.

Training and Consultation: Benefit from one half-hour personal assistance to establish, edit or enhance your agency’s listing on our database.                         

Priority Consideration: Participate in corporate volunteer fairs and receive referrals made to corporate volunteer groups.  Also, remain eligible for project requests made to Hands On Sacramento’s flexible volunteer program and other HOS managed projects.
